My story.

I can tell you all about my educational and professional accomplishments, but I'll bet you're really wondering if you're going to like me and if I can help you. So, here goes…
My work.
I’m a planner, and not just a little bit, but a lot. It was always my plan to work with young people. I love your minds and ideas, your curiosity, your sense of humor, your honesty, and even your eye rolling. I love all of it.
Why eating disorders? Well, that part was fate. Back in 2003, after relentless coercion by a dear friend, I applied for a job as a pediatric eating disorder therapist. I got the job, barely, and I never looked back.
Since then, I’ve worked exclusively with children, teens, and young adults with eating disorders. I’ve seen a lot but most importantly, I’ve seen full recovery. I know what it looks, feels, and sounds like and I know it’s worth the fight. Almost recovering just won’t cut it.
Being a mom.
I'm a mom, which is the coolest thing I've ever done. We all have a purpose and mine is to make the world better and kinder by raising happy and healthy kids - all kids - not just my own. Every day I am reminded of the profound impact parents have on their children. For this reason, parents have an important role in the eating disorder recovery process. I work closely with parents to teach them how to support you through your recovery and beyond.
The other stuff.
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. No, I’m not going to say I love hiking, skiing, etc, etc. Most days you can find me dressed in black, smiling, spending time with my family, laughing, listening to my old cassette tapes, planning my next trip to Disneyland, organizing things, reading beach books, relaxing near water, making crafty stuff, enjoying insanely hot weather, making lists and, of course, crossing things off my list. And chasing after my baseball-eating, hole-digging, bandana-wearing puppy!
If any of these things resonate with you, you're in the right place. There's definitely a world waiting for you on the other side of that eating disorder.
